Comic Talk: Gotham High

Join us Tuesday, June 30th @3:00pm-3:45 pm for Comic Talk, a virtual book club for those going into grades 9-12. Registration is required to attend.

Comic Talk will be hosted by a small group of young adult librarians from the South Shore. For June, we will be reading Gotham High by Melissa de la Cruz.

"After being kicked out of his boarding school, 16-year-old Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham City to find that nothing is as he left it. What once was his family home is now an empty husk, lonely but haunted by the memory of his parents' murder. Selina Kyle, once the innocent girl next door, now rules over Gotham High School with a dangerous flair, aided by the class clown, Jack Napier. When a kidnapping rattles the school, Bruce seeks answers as the dark and troubled knight-but is he actually the pawn? Nothing is ever as it seems, especially at Gotham High, where the parties and romances are of the highest stakes...and where everyone is a suspect."

The event will be held online. All cameras will be set to OFF for patron privacy. By turning on your camera, you and/or your adult consent to your face being on screen. We will not be recording the meeting. Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive information on how to attend the event. Want to read the book? Gotham High is available on Hoopla

Our next dates will be Tuesday, July 28th, and Tuesday, August 18th. July's pick will be The Woods, Vol. 1: The Arrow by James Tynion IV. August's pick will be They Called Us Enemy by George Takai. Both titles can be found on Hoopla.
