Meet the Visionary: Colby Lauria

Behind every great event is a mastermind with a passion for bringing people together. Meet Colby Lauria, the driving force behind the Marshvegas Hometown Festival. From basketball camps to international events like PARTY PRIMAVERA in Italy, Colby’s goal is to create unparalleled experiences that leave a lasting impact. And he’s just getting started – with plans to host a massive festival at the Marshfield Fairgrounds by 2027, the future of Marshfield’s entertainment scene looks brighter than ever.

Colby Lauria, a St. Lawrence University student, is on a mission to unite communities through dynamic events. With majors in Business in the Liberal Arts and Economics and a minor in Film and Representation Studies, Colby has already built an impressive track record in event coordination. His journey began with "Colby Camp," a backyard basketball camp he started in 2019 as a social outlet for his younger brother. Over four years, Colby Camp became a significant local success, with over a hundred custom-made t-shirts and personalized paper medals awarded.

Colby’s vision extends far beyond his backyard. During an internship with Interscope Records in Santa Monica, CA, he hosted a pop-up concert, showcasing his ability to bring people together in unique ways. His most ambitious project to date is PARTY PRIMAVERA, an international event he successfully executed at Vrasa, a high-end restaurant in Sorrento, Italy. Despite challenges like language barriers, financial risks, and the pressures of studying for finals, Colby made the event a resounding success, marking his fourth independent event in under a year.

Lauria’s ultimate goal is to create a personal brand focused on building events from the ground up. By 2027, Colby aims to host a major festival at the Marshfield Fairgrounds, turning his passion for bringing people together into a lifelong entrepreneurial journey. Marshvegas Hometown Festival is just the beginning.

This year’s Marshvegas Hometown Festival isn’t just another event – it’s a celebration of Marshfield’s vibrant community, with fresh faces and youthful energy taking the lead. It’s the perfect blend of local talent, comfort food, and an atmosphere where all that adulting is finally paying off – a well deserved humble brag for every mom out there!

From the talented young musicians to the diverse blend of vendors, this festival is designed to appeal to all ages. Don’t miss out – and don’t forget to tip your lemonade stand. IYKYK.
